Praises to our King, the Latham house is all well!! Thank you for all your prayers. Kevin and Keeley have been let back into the rest of the house, after battling the flu for a week. They are both feeling wonderful.

Brock is doing well and we are very pleased with the way his head is healing. He is really moving a lot this week. He has been tolerating his feeds, he is on hardly any oxygen. We are lowering his vent settings as he tolerates the changes. And he has been squeezing my hand. Another exciting thing is that he is doing it with the left hand. The neat thing about that is that he didn't really use his left side in the hospital or even when we came home. Thank you Jesus! Brock's PT was at our house and I told her that he was squeezing my hand and she wanted to see him do it. She was very excited, and said that it is a purposeful movement. Again thank you Lord.

I just wanted to remind everyone that we need to all remember to give praises to God for big and little things. Sometimes when we are waiting for something big we forget all the little things he has done.

Here is a scripture for you to read Romans 8:25-30.
May God continue to bless you and give you strength. We feel so blessed that he has brought so many faithful people into our life.

Barbara and Kevin Latham

3:30AM/ 01-18-06:Thank you all for always being so supportive to our needs. I am so sorry I could not go into details earlier. We do believe that God calls us to depend on HIM first. Believe me we felt the need to hear a familiar voice, a supportive friend, or even just someone to comfort us. But that was not God's plan for us today. He wanted our attention and He wanted to comfort us Himself. You know that when you try to do things or figure things out yourself things just do not flow like they do when you surrender it all to HIM.

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.. Even in the storm, God is good!!!

I guess now that I have rattled on I will get to what happened today.......... It started out a wonderful day and ended just as wonderful. Around 11am Brock spit up his breakfast and then his O2 sats went really low, we tried for a few hours to get them back up with no luck. Then finally around 2pm they went into a normal range. Around 2:30, he then spit up again 2 more times. This time we tried everything to get his O2 sats up and we were unable too. His O2 sats were dangerously low but nothing could be done medically. You see we had him on as much oxygen that the tanks could deliver 10L per minute. Which is very high. So we prayed and waited. Around 10:30PM his O2 sats moved into a normal range. Praise the Lord!!

We now know that Brock has the stomach bug. When he threw up he aspirated some of it causing his O2 sats to go down. At this time no one else in the house has the bug.

We are very careful with people coming in and out but now we need to be even more. We enjoy all visitors but ask that if you have been sick or have been around someone that has been sick, please just call or e-mail us. We do love phone calls and love to read e-mails. And as always love to see people just remember Brock doesn't need a bug...

Please continue to pray for our family and seek God for how to pray for us. Thank you for all the support and may God Bless You.

The Latham Family

CHRISTMAS 2005

01-12-2006 UPDATE
We are still at home. Brock continues to do very well, although he has not woke up yet. Still moving around, growing, does open his eye lids from time to time. Occasionally he gets a little puffy from extra fluid but all in all, he looks great.

A couple of weeks ago while doing some routine blood checks, some of the results looked like he had an infection somewhere. Brock's Dr. started checking things out when probably a week later, a bump pops up on his head. It continued to grow and then one of the bumps friends moves in next door. Anyway the thing kept growing and probably got to the size of a golf ball and stuck out from his head about an inch. Our Dr came by, to take a look and he told us he thought it was a boil caused by a staph infection. He was started on antibiotics and several days later the thing finally ruptured. The Brock's Dr sent us to a wound Dr here in Abilene and he cut off the bad skin and cleaned it up a bit. It was then revealed that the wound had compromised his bone, making a small hole in his skull. We clean and dress it often, trying to keep the area clean. The Dr has given us instructions to let nobody touch his head.

The wound, now six days later looks good. It is pink, has a good blood flow and looks healthy. Brock's Dr came by and looked at it Monday night and he thought it (the hole and the wound)looked smaller. Looks that way to us as well.
Please continue to lift us up in prayer. We are in a wonderful position to see great and mighty works of our Father.

Love you all. Miss seeing you. Kevin and Barbara
