Prayer request for Brock and family:09-13-06

Brock has been very sick for a few days now. He has had a fever for three days and he is very dehydrated. If he does not tolerate his pedialyte today we will start him on IV fluids. He did rest well last night for the first time in two days. Thank you Lord for the much needed rest.

We ran some test on Brock last night and will do some more lab work today. As most of you know Kevin and I do all his lab work and take care of his daily needs. So, please pray for strength and wisdom for the both of us. Also, please lift Dr.Steadman up in prayer for wisdom and strength. One last thing the girls know that Brock has not been feeling well so please lift them up as well. Thank you.

Still Standing on God's Promises,

Barbara and Kevin Latham

Romans 8:3-32
If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-- won't God, who gave us Christ , also give us all things?

Dear Latham family -

As I read your story today, I was deeply encouraged by your total faith in our Creator. I have some wonderful friends at my home congregation here in Abilene going through something similar and I am constantly reminded of the true priorities in our life. I only wished it didn't take times like this to make me remember. Thank you for being such incredible lights in such an incredible dark place. I will pray your protection against the evil one’s attacks on you and your family and healing for sweet Brock as well. May God continue to bring peace and strength to your family now and forever.

2 Corinthians 4:7-18
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore also we speak; knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

My daughter e-mail and asked that we pray for and with Brock and your family. Know that God will answer your prayers daily and He will never leave nor forsake you. He is a God of His word and whatsoever you ask in Jesus' Name it will be done. I pray for your strength and courage to feel the hand of God, hear his voice and be moved to follow his guidance.
